The fellow will produce memos and policy frameworks, design surveys/message tests, and translate technical AI developments into actionable guidance for Democratic campaigns, elected officials, and progressive organizations. Canvassers are often the first point of contact and help recruit, motivate, and engage new and existing members. The position runs from early May through Election Day, with shifts 2:00pm–10:00pm Monday–Friday.

A one-year fellowship placing an experienced investigative reporter in a participating local or regional U.S. newsroom while collaborating closely with ProPublica. Fellows propose and execute a community-specific investigative project with support from a ProPublica senior editor and access to ProPublica’s data, research, and engagement resources; work is published by both the partner newsroom and ProPublica.

Work with staff organizers to build and lead a congregational organizing program across metro-area faith communities, developing leadership and shared power across race, class, and neighborhoods. The fellow supports and leads relationship-building, outreach, trainings, meetings with elected officials, and public actions tied to racial, economic, and climate justice campaigns. The role reports to a lead organizer and often requires evenings and weekends for meetings and events.

Leads logistics for coalition meetings, trainings, mobilizations, and policy implementation, coordinating schedules, access needs, vendors, travel, and on-site support. Provides administrative support including invoice and reimbursement processing, budget tracking, file management, and asset inventory. Temporary full-time role running June 2–August 29, 2025, based in the Bay Area with hybrid work.

The Organizing Fellow is a part-time, temporary position (up to 20 hours/week for up to six months) supporting campaigns by recruiting and developing members and leaders across Maine. Fellows will build regional volunteer teams, engage members in elections, recruit new monthly donors, and support various campaign activities, with priority given to work in Muslim, rural, and veterans communities. The role is based in Maine with remote work and reports to the Campaigns Director.

The part-time community organizers will recruit and engage new members, develop local activities and committees, and build volunteer leadership to advance organizational campaigns. They will focus on organizing in specific regions of Maine, moving members into action at the state and national levels, including work with the Maine Small Business Coalition and small-dollar fundraising. Positions are temporary through December 31, 2026, can be hybrid or office-based in Portland, Bangor, or Lewiston, and report to the Organizing Director.

Paid interns assist multiple departments—including Communications, Finance, Operations, Organizing, Training, and Political—with a variety of projects in a hybrid environment. The 12-week program runs 10–15 hours per week and offers hands-on exposure to grassroots state-level politics and professional development. Duties may also include assisting on disaster response and transportation/infrastructure projects. Specific tasks will match the intern’s interests and project needs.

Projects may include net-zero policy frameworks, power and industrial decarbonization, energy innovation and commercialization, nuclear energy, carbon capture and direct air capture, natural carbon solutions, offshore wind, responsible oil and gas production, and infrastructure/permitting modernization.

Full-time, in-person spring intern supporting the Human Capital Program for 10 weeks. Interns provide functional support, conduct research, and work directly with analysts and staff on policy issues including early childhood, worker benefits, education, business, and workforce development.

Full-time, in-person spring internship supporting the health policy team with research, writing info briefs and blogs, event planning, congressional tracking, communications, and administrative tasks. Projects may cover Medicare/Medicaid efficiency, health care cost drivers, digital health and advanced care models, long-term services and supports, and rural health infrastructure and workforce.

Supports communications and development teams to enhance visibility and fundraising through media monitoring, research, and targeted outreach. Drafts press releases, pitches, donor correspondence, social content, and event materials; designs digital assets; maintains databases; prepares briefing memos; and assists with meetings and special events.

Support projects in elections, structural democracy, and governing/civics through research and writing, event planning, monitoring news and congressional activity, blogging, and communications. Duties align with the intern’s interests and project needs during a full-time, in-person, 10‑week spring term.

The intern supports long-term policy projects and papers through background research and writing, drafts blog posts, and helps prepare responses to congressional and media inquiries. Additional duties include monitoring congressional activity, analyzing budget documents, assisting with event planning, and managing multiple assignments based on program needs.

The intern will support education, advocacy, and public policy initiatives for the organization. Responsibilities include tracking policy issues, researching and creating fact sheets and articles, completing a self-directed project, attending relevant events, and providing event and administrative support. The internship typically lasts three months and follows a hybrid schedule with in-person work in Arlington, VA 2-3 days a week.

The Advocacy and Policy Intern will contribute to the organization's mission through educational, advocacy, and policy activities. Responsibilities include tracking policy issues, supporting events and programming, conducting research, writing communications, and completing a self-directed project in science policy. The internship lasts approximately three months, involves both in-person and remote work, and is full-time.
